DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. — A man was arrested for a DUI crash that killed two people in DeSoto County on September 2. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a John Deere utility vehicle (UTV) was heading west on County Road 660 toward U.S. Route 17. At around 7:37 p.m., a vehicle crashed into the back of the UTV, causing the utility vehicle to veer off the road and collide with a ditch and wooden fence. All three people in the UTV were launched out of the vehicle during the crash. A 39-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
