DESOTO — Richard Bacon's last state championship feels like a distant memory. The games were still played in Austin, decades before the UIL moved the tournament to San Antonio. The players from that team are now in their late 40s, some with their own kids in high school. But while that 1993 Lincoln team etched its place in the history books, its coach is still competing to cement his legacy. As DeSoto (30-8) makes the trip down to San Antonio for the state basketball tournament this weekend, Bacon has the chance to make those distant memories a reality again.
