Two fights at a DeSoto High School on Friday during which campus security used pepper balls and spray to disperse students resulted in one employee being placed on administrative leave. After campus security officers first tried to disperse students crowded in a campus hallway by telling them to proceed to class, they used pepper spray to disperse the crowd given the amount of students. The spray was 'directed at the floor and not at students,' DeSoto ISD spokesperson Tiffanie Blackmon-Jones said.
