SAN ANTONIO — It took a transcendent player to end a budding dynasty in Saturday's Class 6A state championship game. Four-star recruit Arianna Roberson, a 6-4 center who is rated the 29th-best junior in the nation, had 24 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks to lead state No. 1-ranked San Antonio Clark to a 42-37 win over DeSoto at the Alamodome. She was serenaded with chants of MVP after being named the game's Most Valuable Player. DeSoto took a 35-34 lead into the fourth quarter, but Roberson scored all eight points for Clark in the final period as Clark used an 8-0 run to build a 42-35 lead with 3:22 left.
