Here are 10 players to watch in the UIL boys basketball state tournament, which runs Thursday through Saturday in San Antonio. Five teams from the Dallas area will compete: DeSoto and Lake Highlands in 6A, Kimball and Mansfield Summit in 5A and Oak Cliff Faith Family in 4A. Class 6A Jaxson Davis, DeSoto: Davis can win his second state championship a three-month span this week in San Antonio. DeSoto's 6-5 senior forward — who averaged 17 points in the regional quarterfinals, semifinals and finals — is a tight end on the school's football team, and caught 12 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown for the 6A Division II state champions last season.
